Desire to create dignity with technology

The Senior and Social Administration in Kolding municipality experienced pressure from two sides; The need to enhance effectiveness and the increase of more demanding citizens who need help.
It is not only a question about increasing numbers of older people but also that the elderly live longer, and that they have to able to live in their own homes for the longest time possible in a way that feels dignified to them.
The desire from Kolding municipality was to create more dignity for citizens, employees, and organization through technology and digitalization.

02 - Action

A concept for a systematic approach to working with welfare technology and digitalisation

Based on the Public Intelligence Innovation methodology, a concept for a systematic approach for working with welfare technology and digitalisation across the Senior and Social Administration in the Municipality of Kolding was described.
The methodology is a structured model for involving citizens and all parts of the municipal organization in working with identifying problems, finding possible technological and digital solutions, and to test them in practice close to the citizens.

Public Intelligence trained the consultants from Kolding municipality in using this methodology, so that it became their own systematic approach to working with new technologies.

03 - Result

More welfare for the money

The final concept is a systematic script created in collaboration with the Senior and Social Administration. The script answers all the fundamental questions and describes all essential workflows to get technology and digitalization to create the most value possible for the citizens, employees, and for the administration as an organization.

The new way for the Administration to work has led to, that what they work with today gives more welfare for the money, at the same time as it helps to improve the life quality of the individual citizen.
