The healthcare system is not sustainable in the future.
eHealth City Svendborg
eHealth City Svendborg is an innovation partnership between Svendborg municipality, Odense University Hospital, University of Southern Denmark and Public Intelligence.
Street labs show the way
We have built the world’s first user-oriented test city.
The healthcare system is not sustainable in the future.
We grow older, there is not enough staff or money to maintain the system as it is today. As a society, we have to innovate and rethink our healthcare system in order to meet the future with better and more effecient healthcare solutions.
Street labs show the way
In the eHealth City Svendborg partnership we create solutions in new ways with a focus on the citizens’ experiences, technology and a reboot of the public healthcare system across the municipality and hospital.
The Citizens’ needs form the basis for new solutions that needs to be tested and developed in collaboration between citizens, healthcare staff and companies. First in “street laboratories” – consisting of three selected streets in Svendborg – and then throughout Svendborg and in other municipalities.
Work is done through four visions:
- Svendborg as the world’s most preventive city
- No citizens with chronic diseases hospitalized
- We all take responsibility for each other’s health through communities
- We build a healthcare system that is always available and without wait.
We have built the world’s first user-oriented test city.
eHealth City Svendborg is not a project but a new way of working on healthcare innovation. Some of the things we have achieved so far are:
- 13 main insights, that tell us what the citizens finds the most important in their experience of the healthcare system.
- The citizens’ voice, a more comprehensive report with insights into what citizens perceive as particularly important in their experience of the healthcare system and how we work methodically.
- Test actions about how we take responsibility for each other’s health through communities in the street labs.
